Western Products Participates in Be the Spark Initiative with the Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce

Western Products, manufacturer of WESTERN® snow removal and ice control equipment, hosts seventh-grade students from Milwaukee’s River Trails Elementary School as a sponsor of Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce’s (MMAC) Council of Small Business Executives (COSBE) Be the Spark business tour initiative on Tuesday, November 1, 2016.

“We are thrilled to have the students visit us and learn more about the manufacturing business,” said James L. Janik, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Douglas Dynamics, parent company of Western Products. “We know the importance of investing in our youth to give them the skills and knowledge to succeed in the future. We hope today will spark interest in the diverse career paths the manufacturing sector can offer. At a time when many companies are moving manufacturing jobs overseas, we are committed to keeping and expanding skilled manufacturing jobs in Milwaukee and applaud the MMAC for promoting these kind of initiatives to encourage the next generation of skilled manufacturing employees.”

Western Products is a proud sponsor of MMAC’s COSBE Be the Spark business tour initiative. The program provides students an opportunity to explore a business and multiple career options within that business. The tour helps the student envision jobs that they may want to do in their future and what education they would need to achieve that position.
